“Should be fun!”

They also said that PlayStation fans should not expect any details on their PS5 plans in the upcoming State of Play.

But there is one big PS4 announcement that will definitely take place during the next State of Play, and that is a Last of Us 2 update.

The day after the next State of Play was announced Naughty Dog confirmed that the Last of Us 2 would be making an appearance during it.

TLOU 2 director Neil Druckmann tweeted: “We’ve been silent for too long. It’s time to put an end to that.”

Alongside this was the first teaser for the State of Play announcement.

It simply showed a clip of a switchblade in front of a few clicker spores to the backdrop of some ambient background music.

And since then the Naughty Dog Twitter has been posting a brand new teaser every day.

It’s expected that the State of Play Last of Us 2 showing will reveal more gameplay footage and announce a release date.

The State of Play stream is happening the same day as a Last of Us 2 media event, where journalists are rumoured to be getting three hours hands-on time.

It has also been speculated that Sony could announce a Last of Us 2 multiplayer beta during the upcoming State of Play.

E3 2018 was also the last time that another PS4 exclusive, Ghost of Tsushima, was showcased and fans will surely be hoping for an update this week.

And it’s possible that a Ghost of Tsushima announcement could be on the cards, with Sony recently making fresh comments about the game.

Sony bigwig Shuhei Yoshida spoke about how he’s been left “overwhelmed” by the graphics of Ghost of Tsushima in a new issue of Famitsu.

The Sony Worldwide Studios president said: “When I play it, it’s so beautiful that my hands stop.

“There are many scenes that make Japanese scenery 1.2 times more beautiful.”

While recently Ghost of Tsushima was also listed as making an appearance at TGS 2019, but it was just old trailers that were showcased.

Elsewhere it’s rumoured that a new Batman game, dubbed Batman Court of Owls, could get revealed during State of Play.

It’s believed that this title is being developed by WB Games Montreal, who made previous Arkham Batman game Arkham Origins.

And finally PS4 fans may be holding out hope that Sony could have a surprise Ape Escape announcement in the works.

Earlier this year there was plenty of Twitter activity surrounding Ape Escape as the game celebrated its 20th anniversary.
