Apocalypse survival base revealed: Trump’s ‘fully operational’ secretive underground

Bryan Walsh, author of the new book End Times, which analyses the existential threats which humanity faces, believes he knows where the likes of Donald Trump will head if America is in catastrophic danger. Mr Walsh lists several end of the world scenarios which could devastate humanity, including a major volcanic eruption, climate change, nuclear war, artificial intelligence, disease, and even the introduction of aliens. If one of these events were to occur, the US knows where it is going to stick its top ranking officials until the all clear is given.

Both the US and Russia have a impenetrable military bunkers to protect themselves in case of nuclear war, which were built during the Cold War.

Whether a man-made or natural disaster strikes, the former editor of Time Magazine believes President Trump will be placed in one of these nuclear bunkers.

Mr Walsh wrote in End Times: “Both the Soviet Union and the United States build elaborate, deeply protective bunkers for civilian and military leaders to survive a nuclear attack.

“One of them, the Mount Weather bunker in Virginia, is still operational, and it’s where America’s top civilian and military leaders would be relocated in the event of a nuclear attack or similar global catastrophe.”

The Mount Weather Bunker is a 600,000 square foot underground facility, around 48 miles from Washington DC.

Vice President Dick Cheney was famously rushed there on 9/11 as high ranking US officials feared the worst.

Mr Walsh continued: “There’s also the Cheyenne Mountain Complex in Colorado, where hundreds of military staff protected by 2,500 feet of granite man the nation’s missile surveillance system.”

However, the chances of the average American getting access to these bunkers on the day of an apocalyptic event is nil.

And even if they were accessible for the everyday person, Mr Walsh warned that it is not a refuge – a place where humanity could thrive post-apocalypse – and one would need advanced warning of a threat, which would be unlikely in the case of something like nuclear.

Mr Walsh said: “These are the closest examples the United States has to doomsday refuges, though they’re both designed to help the world keep going, not surviving its end.

“If the refuges were kept empty, people would have to be moved into them once a disaster was already under way, or even afterward.

“That might be possible in the event of pandemic or something that could be predicted in advance, like a major asteroid strike.

“It’s less feasible in the event of a near-instant wipeout like a nuclear war.”
