The Apple Watch Series 5 is now here, in all of its always-on, 18-hours-of-battery-life glory. It starts at $399 — the previous starting price for the now-discontinued Apple Watch Series 4. But Amazon is already discounting the new model — the GPS version, anyway, by $15 — in advance of its arrival on store shelves this Friday.
Apple has kept the Series 3 model in the lineup, marking it down to $199 (38mm) and $239 (42mm). With that, the company has simply formalized the discounts we’d been seeing for months at Amazon and Walmart. And, as we predicted they would, third-party sellers are already slashing prices on the Series 4 in order to clear the way for new inventory. You can now pick up the Series 4 GPS plus Cellular model for $399 (40mm) at Best Buy and $424 (44mm) at Amazon — that’s at or close to their respective all-time low prices.
