Your Amazon Echo speaker could look massively outdated this week

Amazon Echo is one of the most popular smart speakers in the world and things could be about to get even better.

The online retailer looks set to reveal some all-new smart home gadgets later this week and a refreshed Amazon Echo could be top of the agenda.

Amazon’s hardware event has become a staple in September, with the Seattle company tipped to unveil a number of new products during a keynote presentation from its Seattle headquarters.

Last year, Amazon launched a new Echo Dot with a louder speaker and an improved design. It also debuted a more affordable Echo Input, which plugs into your existing sound system and adds the talkative Alexa.

Amazon also revealed its sound-boosting Echo Sub to bring a bigger sound to its ever-expanding portfolio of Echo speakers, as well as a large-screen Echo Show.

vCard QR Code

vCard.red is a free platform for creating a mobile-friendly digital business cards. You can easily create a vCard and generate a QR code for it, allowing others to scan and save your contact details instantly.

The platform allows you to display contact information, social media links, services, and products all in one shareable link. Optional features include appointment scheduling, WhatsApp-based storefronts, media galleries, and custom design options.

There’s no word on what exactly will be included in this year’s line-up although it seems likely the standard Echo will get an upgrade.

These Alexa-enabled devices haven’t been changed in almost two years, so we’ve got our fingers crossed for improved sound quality – especially when it’s cranked up to 11, an all-new design, and some improved features for the smart home gadget.

If there was any doubt about whether we’re likely to see a new Echo model, the fact that the current-generation Echo is out of stock on Amazon’s own website seems like a pretty big hint that something new is on the way.

Searching for the device on Amazon just brings up the warning, “Currently unavailable. We don’t know when or if this item will be back in stock.”

Amazon has confirmed that fans will see what’s new on September 25, 2019 with the event likely to get underway at around 6pm BST.

Express.co.uk is making the trip to Seattle and will bring you all the news live from the exciting keynote so watch this space.

If you’re feeling a little down about your current-generation Echo – don’t worry. While it might not have the flashiest new design, Amazon is always adding new features and hidden treats that you might not have discovered.
