20:30: Trent Alexander-Arnold almost makes a critical error after picking up the ball from Hirving Lozano inside the Liverpool box.
But Alexander-Arnold gets a bad touch and the ball goes towards Dries Mertens.
The full-back, though, gets there before him.

Mohamed Salah makes a nice run down Napoli’s defence.
However, Salah can’t produce a shot and loses the ball from the Serie A side’s defence.
James Milner then delivers a powerful shot outside the box that goes wide off the mark.

Sadio Mane picks up the ball on the left and fires a shot at Alex Meret.
However, Meret makes an easy save and the ball goes out for a corner kick.
The Reds couldn’t produce anything from that set piece.

20:18: Fabian Ruiz’s cross from the right goes through everyone and reaches Dries Mertens on the left.
Mertens knocks it back to the middle of the box creating a very dangerous situation for Liverpool.
However, Van Dijk clears the ball right on time.

The Serie A giants came close to opening the scoring with Fabian Ruiz.
Fabian fired a shot from outside the box but Adrian fell down well to save.
The Spaniard then delivered another strike which was saved again by the Spaniard.
Lorenzo Insigne headed the ball inside the net but he was offside.

There was a slight delay in the beginning as the referee was trying to sort an unknown issue.
Liverpool’s bid of retaining their Champions League trophy has just begun.
Reminding you all that the Reds defeated Tottenham 2-0 in last season’s final in Madrid thanks to goals by Mohamed Salah and Divock Origi.

19:55: Everything is ready for the match to start as the teams have entered the pitch.
The two sides faced off last season in the Champions League group stage where they were also drawn with Paris Saint-Germain and Red Star Belgrade.
Napoli won at the San Paolo with a goal by Lorenzo Insigne.
But Liverpool stood tall at Anfield thanks to Mohamed Salah’s goal.

inter Milan slipped at the San Siro as they drew 1-1 with Slavia Prague thanks to a late equaliser by Nicolo Barella.
Lyon and Zenit St-Petersburg also got a 1-1 draw in the Stade des Lumieres.
19:43: Here’s two Napoli stars Liverpool need to watch out for.
Lorenzo Insigne and Dries Mertens will be running the attack for Carlo Ancellotti’s side tonight.
Insigne scored 10 goals in 28 Serie A matches last season whereas Mertens netted 16 in 35 appearances.
They have both played in three games so far this term in which the Italian has got two goals and the Belgian scored three.

19:30: Napoli goalkeeper Alex Meret is in for a big challenge tonight as he will go up against Liverpool’s lethal attacking trio Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino.
Salah, Mane and Firmino scored a total of 69 goals between them last season.
That also means that Napoli’s defence, more specifically Kostas Manolas and Kalidou Koulibaly, will have their hands full.
