Breaking Bad movie El Camino: Aaron Paul teases major Walter White RETURN twist?

In just over a month the follow up to Breaking Bad series finale Felina is launching on Netflix. A movie sequel to the show, El Camino looks at what happened next to Jesse Pinkman after his great escape aided by Walter White. While fans have been treated to a teaser with Skinny Pete, very little is known about the movie which has already secretly wrapped. In fact, which other Breaking Bad characters will feature in the movie aside from Jesse and Pete remains a total mystery.

One of the biggest questions is whether Bryan Cranston’s Walter White will feature in El Camino, despite the character’s death in the closing scenes of Breaking Bad.

However, a picture of Jesse posted by star Aaron Paul on Instagram may have given a hint.

The 40-year-old actor wrote: “Hello old friend. October 11th. Netflix.”

The picture depicted Jesse with a shaved head, dressed in his yellow meth lab jumpsuit and wearing headphones.

This is a still from Breaking Bad season 4 episode 4 Bullet Points when Jesse was still working in Gus’ meth lab with Walt.

Specifically, this isn’t long after Jesse murdered Gale, and the character was going through something of an existential crisis.

While not a still of Jesse from El Camino, perhaps Paul is hinting that a flashback from this time could feature. After all, is “hello old friend” to Jesse or Walt?

It’s been speculated by fans that since Walt is dead, maybe he’ll return through flashbacks in different periods of the Breaking Bad timeline.

Of course, there’s every possibility that Walt survived his apparent death scene in Felina.

Cranston was asked in an interview back in 2014 if he thought his drug lord was really gone.

The star replied: “I don’t know. You never saw bags zip up or anything.”

Cranston was then pressed on if Walt would be back for a Breaking Bad movie or series revival.

The star said: “Never say never.”

In fact, at the beginning of this year, the 63-year-old told NBC Today: “I’d love to do a Breaking Bad movie.”

With all this in mind, it seems highly likely that Cranston’s Walt will at the very least cameo during El Camino.

El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie streams on Netflix from October 11, 2019.
