Honor IFA launch: PocketVision, Honor Vision TV and more revealed

Honor firstly unveiled a new app called PocketVision during its showcase in the German capital of Berlin.

PocketVision is a new app from the Chinese tech giant that aims to help the visually impaired and people with low vision read with greater clarity.

The app features three modes: text-to-speech, zoom-in and negative image.

The former has been designed to read text to a user while the others attempt to improve its clarity.

PocketVision is available to download right now through the Huawei AppGallery, meaning only those with a Huawei or Honor device can harness it.

It is currently unclear if PocketVision will debut on the Google Play Store in the future.

During its IFA keynote, the Chinese tech giant also discussed its new Honor Vision Pro TV.

The 4K panel measures up at 55-inches, has a wide colour gamut and offers a 178-degree viewing angle.

Honor Vision Pro also boasts six speakers that should allow the product to deliver capable audio.

One of the most interesting aspects of the television stems from the fact it runs HarmonyOS, Huawei’s new operating system that was unveiled last month.

The device also totes a pop-up camera that allows for video calling.

The Honor Vision Pro is already available in China – it retails for 4,799 yuan (£547.66).

Unfortunately, Honor did not discuss any plans to bring the TV to western markets during its IFA presentation.

Finally, the Honor Band 5 was also introduced – a fitness tracker that boasts a 0.95-inch AMOLED display and can track a variety of different workouts.

The Chinese tech giant paid particular attention to the heart rate tracking offered by the Band 5.

It was noted the device should be able to provide owners with incredibly accurate results in this regard.

No UK release date or pricing was provided for the Band 5.
