Carol Kirkwood: BBC weather presenter causes a stir as she comes face to face with 'twin'

Carol Kirkwood was inundated with comments after coming face to face with a “lovely farmer”, who she said was her twin. The BBC weather presenter was at a farm in Leicestershire for her latest forecast and shared a number of photos with her 160,000 Twitter followers. The 57-year-old revealed how she had met her doppelgänger during her location shoot, and the pair were seen posing together. She was in black trousers and a navy quilted jacket, while her white top could just be seen underneath.

With her hair worn down and straight, Carol beamed at the camera while an idyllic countryside view acted as a backdrop.

“Have just met my ‘twin’! Lovely farmer Pat Stanley @BBCBreakfast xxx,” she captioned her snap.

Her companion was seen standing just in front of her holding her pet pooch, after opting for a very similar ensemble.

Pat teamed skinny jeans with wellington boots and a dark blue anorak and a pastel shirt.

Many fans seemingly couldn’t believe their eyes, with one reply reading: “Very alike! X.”

Two others agreed: “You two look like sisters xx,” and: “Spooky, you could be sisters for sure!”

A fourth questioned: “Carol, which one are you?” as another tweet read: “Gorgeous overload.”

Carol later posted: “Huge thanks @JoeWStanley and your lovely family for looking after us so well this morning.

“We had the best time xxx ps have you counted your dogs?”

She had informed followers on what she had been up to throughout the morning, saying she had been there for the sunrise.

“Best time of the day! What a view of the sunrise from the Stanley’s farm in Leicestershire @BBCBreakfast xxx,” the star said.

Carol also tweeted: “How lucky are we to be out in this beautiful scenery in Leicestershire this morning! @joshparry @ksadders @BBCBreakfast.

She was seen cosying up to one of the many dogs that live at the farm, before telling people what they could expect from the weather.

The ex Strictly Come Dancing contestant added: “Today rain and strengthening winds moving in across Northern Ireland and Scotland. Particularly windy in the northwest. Rain getting into Northwest England later @BBCBreakfast xxx.

“Rest of England and Wales, after a chilly start, seeing some sunny spells. Chance of a shower in the Midlands and southwest England but most should stay dry @BBCBreakfast xxx.”

BBC Breakfast continues at 6am on BBC One.
