Royal Caribbean cruise line has made a major change across the entirety of its fleet in what it claims is centred on “delivering great holidays.” The shift, which passengers on all ships will spot, comes into force later this month. Bosses at the firm, which earlier this year announced it would host a series of Dancing On Ice cruises, told how the new provisions would “raise the bar.” This appears particularly centred on a guest’s dining experience on board, with a host of new vegan only menus introduced.
he vegan specific dishes will be collated on one menu, and supplement the already existing vegan food on ship.
Three course menus will even be available to order, with dishes including edamame-stuffed Portobello mushrooms, vegan spaghetti “bolognaise” and orzo pasta stew with green vegetables.
Those with a sweet tooth and aversion to meat, fish and dairy can indulge in desserts such as a toffee “cheesecake” with dark chocolate and a peanut butter crust.
They can now be found in the main dining room of each ship.
Linken D’Souza, Vice President of Food & Beverage, Royal Caribbean International, said: “At Royal Caribbean, we’re always looking at how to raise the bar of our dining offerings and we do it with one specific purpose: delivering great holidays for our guests.
“As the number of people and families adopting a vegan lifestyle continues to grow, we wanted to formalise our vegan offerings in a dedicated menu (available upon request in the Main Dining Room) where guests can explore options and choose their dish – it’s all part of the dining experience!
“It’s important to us to meet holidaymakers’ dietary choices.”
The vegan menus are now available onboard Royal Caribbean’s ships, including its 2020 European flagship Allure of the Seas.
The one route they will not be found on is ships travelling to China.
In the 2019/2020 season, these include Spectrum of the Seas, Quantum of the Seas and Voyager of the Seas.
Earlier this year, Express.co.uk reported how Dancing on Ice professional duo Alexandra Schauman and Lucasz Rozycki will take to the ice on the seas as they take their skates on board Royal Caribbean ships.
The married couple, who both starred in the 2019 ITV series, will star on seven sailings on board Independence of the Seas, in news which is sure to delight cruise-bound TV fans.
A spokesperson for the cruise firm told Express.co.uk they would be “wowing guests alongside Royal Caribbean’s extraordinary ice cast to perform in the current production of Strings.”
The show centres on the enchanting tale of a missing Stradivari violin, with the duo adding extra celebrity sparkle.
The spokesperson revealed: “Guests will have the opportunity to do more than simply watch the show, they will also be able to enjoy meets and greets with the stars.”
