Cristiano Ronaldo reveals Neymar to Barcelona transfer expectations and talks retirement

Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar have faced off against each other on numerous occasions throughout their career, during their respective spells at Real Madrid, Barcelona and PSG.

Neymar is being tipped to leave PSG for Barcelona this summer, with the Catalan giants eager to lure the Brazil international back to the Nou Camp.

Reports on Tuesday have suggested PSG are willing to sell the player for £165million, despite initially demanding £275m.

But Ronaldo doesn’t see Neymar making a return to Barcelona this summer.

“I think he is going to stay in Paris and if not, that he looks for where he is happy and where he can express his football that is a lot, that he has no injuries, that a lot is happening to him and you have to worry,” he said.

“I worry because I like to see the boy playing.

“Regardless of where he plays, take care of himself and have no injuries, that’s what I want for him.”

Ronaldo was also asked about retiring.

At the age of 34, most players have already enjoyed the peak years of their career.

Ronaldo is still going strong, though, having propelled Juventus to Serie A glory last season.

And the Portugal international has admitted he has no plans to hang up his boots any time soon.

“I am not worried at all in that regard because it will depend a lot on what I feel, on my motivation, because physically it will never be a problem,” he said.

“Well, in quotes. Up to 40 you have to treat yourself well and I think it will not be the most important factor, honestly.

“It is more psychological that will make a difference.

“I hope that nothing happens until 40, but if it happens, then nothing.

“Life is like that, everything has a beginning and an end, so Cristiano is not going to last a lifetime, logically, but I still feel strong to keep winning important things.”

Ronaldo also insisted he had nothing to do with Juventus signing Matthijs de Ligt from under the noses of Barcelona.

“I would never influence a coach or a leader in signings,” he added.

“But the truth is that I am glad he is with us.”
