Bruno Fernandes U-turn

Sporting Lisbon are preparing for life WITH Bruno Fernandes again this season.

The Portuguese side were resigned to losing their attacking midfielder to Manchester United – but things have changed.

The Red Devils were expected to launch an offer for the 24-year-old international but Sporting still haven’t received a bid.

Now, Correio de Manha claim Sporting are preparing ‘Plan B’ by selling Wendel, Raphinha, Marcos Acuna and Bas Dost if they don’t receive their £62million for Fernandes.

Sean Longstaff staying

Newcastle manager Steve Bruce has no interest in allowing Sean Longstaff to leave the club this summer.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has targeted Longstaff, who is valued at £50million, to replace Ander Herrera at Old Trafford.

But Bruce insists he’s not going anywhere.

“He’s a player we want to keep, he’s had a remarkable rise,” Bruce said. “He is the type of player you want to build your team around, I’ve only seen him for a day, but he has had an unbelievable rise. Very much reminds me of a Michael Carrick.

“I’m not aware that he is going to Manchester United, I’m not aware of that at all.”

Ivan Rakitic on radar

Ivan Rakitic may be back on Manchester United’s radar as Barcelona appear keen to offload the star midfielder in their bid to sign Neymar.

According to the Daily Star, United have been keeping tabs on Rakitic throughout this summer but the Croatia international preferred to stay put at Barca.

However, the Catalan giants are determined to bring Neymar back to the Nou Camp and are willing to splash £90million including a number of players to Paris St-Germain.

Rakitic could be one of the stars Barcelona are looking to swap for the Brazil international and so are Philippe Coutinho, Ousmane Dembele, Nelson Semedo, Malcom and Samuel Umtiti.

That could be good news for Manchester United as the Croatian might feel unwanted by the La Liga giants and change his mind about wanting to stay.

Christian Eriksen latest

Christian Eriksen trained on his own on Friday ahead of a pre-season match against Juventus in Singapore, adding to speculation the Real Madrid, Manchester United and Barcelona target could leave the London club.

Eriksen is entering the final year of his contract at Tottenham and could leave for free next summer.

Last month, the Denmark international said he was ready to take on a new challenge.

Argentine manager Mauricio Pochettino told reporters Eriksen trained alone due to a “minor surgery” the playmaker underwent after Tottenham lost 2-0 in the Champions League final to Liverpool in June.
