Tom Holland: Staying in Spider-Man character at Disneyland was 'exhausting'

Tom Holland is back on the big screen in Spider-Man: Far From Home. The star sat down with Graham Norton to discuss the upcoming sequel and his new costume. Spider-Man: Far From Home is out in UK cinemas on Tuesday, July 2, 2019.

What did Tom Holland say about being in character at Disneyland?

Norton asked Holland about his experience at Disneyland, where he drummed up anticipation for the upcoming sequel.

Holland said: “I had to walk around all day surprising kids, which was lovely, but I was told I couldn’t break out of character.

“Even in the green room, I had to be Peter Parker. It was exhausting.”

He clearly didn’t let on to fans that he was feeling tired from the effort.

The responses on social media to the surprise unveiling of the real man behind the Spidey mask were met with unrivalled excitement.

One Disneyland-goer posted a clip of Holland who was saying hello to fans and high-fiving people.

One of which was a toddler dressed up as Spider-Man himself.

The Instagram user wrote: “So freakin’ cool Tom Holland” and then added: “My kid just high-fived Tom Holland you guys!!!!”

Another said: “I JUST SAW TOM HOLLAND AT DISNEYLAND!!!!!”

A third excited fan wrote: “Tom Holland is in Disneyland with the SPIDER-MAN SUIT ON?!?!?!?!?!”

He was joined, both at Disneyland and on The Graham Norton Show, by co-star Jake Gyllenhaal.

Gyllenhaal plays Mr Beck, aka Mysterio, a suspected villain mastermind behind the Elementals’ attack on Europe.

His co-stars Zendaya and Jacob Batalon also visited Disneyland to surprise fans.

Holland also discussed his new costume with Norton, saying he appreciated the fact that it finally had a zipper.

Spider-Man: Far From Home takes place after the events of Avengers: Endgame.

In the film, Peter Parker must step up to take on new threats in a world that has changed forever.

Spider-Man: Far From Home is out in cinemas on July 2, 2019.
