Starfield E3 2019: Bethesda conference skipping Elder Scrolls 6 for 2020?

Bethesda at E3 events tends to play on the cautious side and not tease projects that are years away from release.

However, they broke this tradition with the announcement of Starfield and Elder Scrolls 6 last year.

So fans are hopeful they might pull the same stunt and provide a little update on what is being planned next.

The thing is, the company has already gone out of their way to say that both projects will not be at E3 this year.

They won’t be playable, as many would expect, but they also won’t be featured during Bethesda’s E3 show.

It appears that Elder Scrolls 6 and Starfield will be skipping E3 this year but will probably be back for 2020.

“It’s going to be a long time,” Bethesda director Todd Howard revealed during PAX.

“It’s not something we’re going to be talking about at E3 — either of those games — this year. And so patience, please.”

It will no doubt prove very disappointing for fans if neither are mentioned during the Bethesda E3 showcase.

The wait for a new mainline Elder Scrolls game continues following the success of Skyrim.

And while we may not hear more about Elder Scrolls 6 tonight, both games may still get a mention.

This could be through a joke, or some kind of gag reel, based on how past E3 shows have been organised.

Past comments made by Howard suggest that Starfield will launch before Elder Scrolls, although it’s thought both games will launch on the next-gen of consoles.

The good news is that when Starfield is talked about again at length by Bethesda, it shouldn’t be long before it hits shelves.

Like with Fallout 4, it looks like Bethesda are planning a very short turnaround between announcing the release date and the actual launch of the game.

This could all change if both titles aren’t going to be featured again until E3 2020.

Games that will definitely be featured tonight include Rage 2, Doom Eternal and of Wolfenstein: Youngblood.

Youngblood is one of the next game’s to be released by the studio group and should have a pretty big trailer during E3.

Here’s a recent statement made by Bethesda regarding their plans for E3 2019, adding: “E3 is coming, and on Sunday, June 9 (5:30PM PT), Team Bethesda returns to Los Angeles for our 5th Annual Bethesda E3 Showcase.

“It’s going to be a hell of a night. We have got an in-depth look at DOOM Eternal plus much, much more.

“We want to “Be Together” with all of you this year and with that in mind we are planning to invite more of you, our biggest fans, to join us on our biggest night of the year.”

The Bethesda E3 Showcase will be available to watch on a number of different platforms, including YouTube, Twitch and Mixer.
