Galaxy S10 owners have just received a free gift from Samsung

Galaxy S10 was unwrapped by Samsung back in February and comes in four models that are each appealing for their nuances.

Each model of the S10 is striking for its all-screen design that has a cutout within the display itself for a front-facing camera system.

The standard Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10e each have a small circular cutout for a single front facing camera while the S10+ and S10 5G have larger pill-shaped holes that house two sensors.

One of the most unexpected outcomes of such a design choice comes from just how much fans have taken to it.

In fact, there are now applications such as Hidey Hole on the Google Play Store that present S10 owners with wallpapers designed to mask the cutout in humorous ways.

For instance, one wallpaper in question positions the standard S10 or S10e’s hole behind one of the eyes of Sesame Street’s Cookie Monster.

Numerous backgrounds have been created in this style for the S10e, standard S10 and S10+ and now it appears Samsung is joining in on the fun.

That is because the firm has announced it has partnered with Disney and Pixar to create wallpapers that cater to the circular hole punch offered by the S10e and standard S10 free to download right now.

Five backgrounds are offered in total and feature characters from The Incredibles, Frozen, Zootopia and one featuring Mickey Mouse.

Unfortunately, there are no wallpapers offered designed to fit the pill-shaped cutout of the S10+ or S10 5G.

In order to obtain the nifty backgrounds, owners should go to change their wallpaper as normal from the home screen.

From there you will see a section that highlights “cutout wallpapers for the S10”.

Next, a stream of backgrounds will appear, some of which are free and others that require a fee to download.

In Express.co.uk’s testing, Samsung’s Disney and Pixar wallpapers were positioned at the top of the grid and were downloadable instantaneously.

Discussing the free gift, Samsung said: “The Galaxy S10 line’s camera plays a unique role across the range’s devices; not only does it take top quality photos and videos, but it also provides users with the opportunity to be creative with their background wallpapers thanks to the placement of the front camera hole.

“Harnessing the creativity this display characteristic unlocks, Samsung Electronics and Disney recently launched a new range of background wallpaper options. Following on from the Disney AR Emojis released last year, Samsung and Disney have brought fan-favourite characters from Disney and Pixar’s The Incredibles and Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Frozen and Zootopia right to the home screens of the Galaxy S10.

“One of the groundbreaking innovations the Galaxy S10 line features is its full-screen experience, made possible by the Infinity-O Display that covers, bar the camera hole, the entire front side of the device. Thanks to precise laser cutting techniques, the camera has been tucked away into the right hand side of the display to eliminate distractions for a cinematic viewing experience.

Most importantly, the South Korean tech giant declared it plans to expand its unique wallpaper arsenal through more “collaborations in the near future”.

Samsung went on: “Samsung wallpapers are available to purchase on the Galaxy Store, and the special Disney collaboration range of wallpapers are downloadable free of charge for Galaxy S10 users. Samsung plans to expand the options for Infinity-O background wallpapers further through various collaborations in the near future.”
