ITV Good Morning Britain: Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid REPLACED in hosting change

The Good Morning Britain presenters are taking a break from the programme next week over half-term.

In the past, the pair have taken the time off to spend with their families as Piers Morgan has young daughter Elise with wife Celia Walden and three sons from his first marriage.

Meanwhile, Susanna Reid shares three sons with former partner Dominic Cotton.

But Susanna and Piers’ seats will be filled by familiar faces to regular viewers.

A spokesperson confirmed to Express.co.uk that Richard Madeley and Charlotte Hawkins would be filling in for the pair from Monday through to Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Ranvir Singh and Adil Ray would take over for Thursday and Friday next week.

The hosts revealed they would be off for a week on Wednesday’s episode of the breakfast news show.

However, Piers couldn’t help but have a jibe at Charlotte, saying the ratings would fall in his absence.

“You’re off now for how long?” entertainment correspondent Richard Arnold asked.

“Just half term,” Piers responded as mother-of-three Susanna asked: “You are?”

Piers was surprised as her questioning as he replied: “Well, so are you. You’re off as well, what do you mean am I off?”

Charlotte chimed in to add: “I’ll be here if viewers who would like to continue watching the programme next week, normal service will resume.”

“Normal service of cratering ratings,” Piers cheekily jibed.

“That’s not true!” Charlotte exclaimed. “Not true.”

Extending his hand out to make a deal, Piers said: “You wanna bet? Go on, I’ll bet you.”

“There will be fewer people watching because it is a bank holiday,” Charlotte attempted to explain.

Piers butted in to say: “Ah, so it’s true, but you’re now trying to find an excuse.”

Charlotte continued: “However, I would encourage you all to buck the trend and to prove to Piers that people still watch.”

Piers and Susanna are expected to return to their hosting duties the following week.

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV.
