Celtic vs Rangers: Super computer predicts Old Firm score – this would be huge

Neil Lennon’s troops go into today’s match with a 10-point lead over the Gers.

A win today would see the defending Scottish champions end Steven Gerrard’s side’s minute hopes of winning the league.

And they’ve been predicted to just do that, despite suffering a 1-0 loss in the last Glasgow derby.

By the calculations of Football Web Pages’ super computer, the Hoops will run out 2-0 winners at Celtic Park.

It also reckons Celtic will end the season with 101 points to their name.

Fans of both teams are treating today’s match as a title decider.

Celtic’s Callum McGregor agrees with that notion, saying: “I think everyone is looking at it almost like a title decider. We know how big the magnitude of this game is.

“They are always big games, but there is probably a wee bit of emphasis on this.

“If we get over the line on Sunday we are pretty much there. So that will be a big focus going back in.”

Rangers’ December victory over their eternal rivals has given their fans plenty of optimism ahead of today’s match.

Gerrard believes his men are now capable of competing with the Bhoys but is anticipating a tough match in the east end of Glasgow.

“It was a very difficult place and I think it affected us from the beginning,” he said of Rangers’ last visit to Parkhead.

“We also had to deal with the mental block of fearing Celtic over the years and the results which had been quite damaging to the team.

“I think beating them at Ibrox and showing, at our best, we can compete and we can go toe to toe, I think that should help us this time round.

“That doesn’t mean we are going to go there and necessarily get the result – we have to go and work for that and make sure across the park we are up for it and match them in the one versus ones.

“But the players have to believe and have less fear this time going there.”
