Bohemian Rhapsody for SHOCK Oscars Best Picture win? Rami Malek movie gets HUGE late boost

The film won Best Motion Picture – Drama at the Golden Globes in January, in what was seen as something of a curveball. But while Rami Malek is the runaway favourite for Best Actor at the Oscars, the Queen biopic has not been considered to be the likely winner for Best Picture. Could a massive upset be on the cards?

Express.co.uk has learned from leading bookies Ladbrokes that – of all the Academy Awards betting markets – it’s Bohemian Rhapsody’s Best Picture odds that have been slashed the most.

A spokesperson told us: “Following its (and Malek’s) success over the last few weeks, we’re trimming the odds on it more than anything else as far as I’m aware.

“If there was to be an upset, that may well be it.”

Currently the film has 16/1 odds of taking the prize, in contrast to being a 33/1 long-shot just weeks ago.

Given the momentum behind it, it seems it would be a very popular choice for the top prize of the night.

It’s in joint-third place of the eight nominees, when ranked by odds with the bookmaker.

Roma remains the favourite at 4/7, with Green Book at 11/4 and The Favourite tying with Bohemian Rhapsody on 16/1.

Further down, BlackKklansman is on 20/1 along with Black Panther, and A Star Is Born is at 33/1.

Vice brings up the rear on a distant 100/1.
