Andrew McCabe reveals groundbreaking and ‘ABSOLUTELY SERIOUS’ plan to tap Trump

Mr McCabe recently admitted that former Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein was “absolutely serious” about wearing a wire to record Trump. Mr McCabe spoke of the chaos surrounding the administration following allegations of Russian interference in the election and the firing of FBI Director James Comey. In an interview with CBS, Mr McCabe insisted the wiretap was talked about during in order to investigate the US President.

He said: “The deputy Attorney General offered to wear a wire into the White House.

“He was not joking. He was absolutely serious.

“And in fact, he brought it up in the next meeting we had.

“Rosenstein said, ‘I never get searched when I go into the White House. I could easily wear a recording device. They wouldn’t know it was there’.”

When Mr Rosenstein was asked last year over his willingness to wear a wire, he insisted that he was joking – a stark contrast to Mr McCabe’s opinion.

In even more worrying news for Trump, Mr McCabe admitted that the Deputy Attorney General had also queried the possibility of invoking the 25th Amendment.

The 25th Amendment states that the Vice President and Cabinet can remove the head of state if they are deemed incapable of performing their duties.

While Mr McCabe quickly wrote off the idea of invoking the Amendment, he did insist that he had raised the possibility of wiretapping Trump to the FBI general counsel.

Despite Mr Rosenstein’s reported keenness to tap the President, the FBI counsel admitted it was a “bridge too far”.

In response to the revelations, Trump labelled their plans as “illegal” and “treasonous”.

Trump also spoke of the “many lies” from the “disgraced” FBI Director as he defended himself on Twitter.

Mr McCabe was fired last March just months before his retirement after it had been found that he had lied about his contact with journalists.
