iPhone XR just beat the iPhone Xs in a very important contest

iPhone XR released back in October and has been positioned as Apple’s most affordable device that comes with an all-screen design.

While the handset makes a few notable compromises in order to achieve its lower price tag, it still retains a number of features found in the more expensive iPhone Xs and Xs Max models.

For instance, the iPhone XR is powered by the same Apple A12 Bionic chipset as the two other Apple varieties.

Moreover, the handset also flaunts the same 12-megapixel main rear sensor that is capable of taking laudable shots.

One of the biggest differences between the iPhone XR and the iPhone Xs is its employment of an LCD display instead of OLED technology.

Moreover, the bezels around the hardware are slightly thicker than Apple Inc’s more premium offerings.

iPhone XR is also the most colourful handset sold from the American tech giant, arriving in white, black, blue, yellow coral and (PRODUCT) RED finishes.

Although the iPhone XR makes compromises the iPhone Xs and Xs Max do not, it appears consumers are willing to accept them in exchange for a more appealing price point.

That is because Consumer Intelligence Research Partners (CIRP) recently filed sales estimates for the handset of the last fiscal quarter.

CIRP insisted the iPhone XR was the best-selling iPhone of the period, despite launching in October.

The handset was said to account for 39 percent of iPhone sales.

Such a figure surpasses the combined 26 percent of the iPhone Xs and Xs Max.

Apple has previously insisted the iPhone XR has been the best selling iPhone since it launched.

However, the tech giant has never offered exact percentages of how it was performing.

It is worth noting that CIRP data has not always been 100 percent accurate in the past, suggesting the figures offered should be taken with a pinch of salt.

But, with Apple Inc previously confirming such a claim, it appears the iPhone XR’s cheaper price tag, features and colours are proving to be incredibly tantalising for iOS enthusiasts.
