Dundee United in for Rossiter

Dundee United have launched an audacious bid to sign Jordan Rossiter from Rangers.

United want to take the 21-year-old midfielder on loan for the rest of the season to bolster their bid to gain promotion from the Championship.

However, Robbie Neilson’s side face competition from England, with Fleetwood Town manager Joey Barton closely monitoring the situation.

Ibrox boss Steven Gerrard is prepared to let Rossiter leave, but any deal would require Rangers to cover a large chunk of the former Liverpool youngster’s wages.

The capture of the England youth international in 2016 was seen as a major coup when he was brought in by Mark Warburton, but his time at Rangers has been dogged by injury.

Chelsea agree Higuain deal

Chelsea have agreed a loan deal to sign Gonzalo Higuain until the end of the season with the potential to extend the move by 12 months, according to Sky Italia.

Higuain has become Maurizio Sarri’s No 1 target as he looks to add goals to his side with Alvaro Morata struggling.

Higuain, who is on loan at AC Milan, is the man he wants after working together at Napoli.

Chelsea have reservations over the deal due to his age and the fees involved but look to have come to an agreement.

Coutinho to Man Utd

Barcelona would demand at least £88m for Philippe Coutinho – despite signing him for £142 last January.

Manchester United have been linked with the playmaker after it emerged that he was unhappy in Spain with his playing time down.

And while a deal for a move back to England looks unlikely David Amoyal claims Barca may not be asking for such a huge fee.

He told ESPN FC: “A deal looks rather unlikely in January, since the Blaugrana would want more than €100 million to even consider the departure of the crown jewel of their transfer campaign last winter.”

Morata leaving Chelsea

Alvaro Morata is set to leave Chelsea this month with the club scrambling to sign another forward.

Sky Sports reporter Kaveh Solhekol claims he is convinced Morata will depart before the transfer window shuts.

“Well Alvaro Morata is going to leave Chelsea pretty soon, we’re convinced about that,” Solhekol said on Sky Sports News.

“It doesn’t look like he’s got a future at the club.

“For whatever reason his move there has not worked out.

“But the issue is Chelsea do not want to let him go on the cheap. This is a player they invested about £57m in.

“What we’re being told today is that Chelsea are looking to get back about £45m for Morata.

“Or, if anyone’s interested in taking him on loan, the loan fees we’re talking about are £10m-12m, just to get him on loan.

“Now, the clubs that are interested are Atletico Madrid, Sevilla, we know Sevilla can’t afford him, there’s even talk in Spain that Barcelona are looking at signing him.

“But at the moment Atletico Madrid is his most likely destination.”

Bale to leave Real Madrid

Gareth Bale’s future at Real Madrid is uncertain due to Brexit.

ESPN FC report that his future in Spain would be ‘plunged’ into doubt should the UK leave the EU in a ‘no deal’ move.

Bale, along with Patrick Roberts on loan at Girona from Manchester City, could lose their right to work outside of the UK.

Bale’s agent Jonathan Barnett told ESPN they ‘would wait and see what happens’.

Denis Suarez to Arsenal

Denis Suarez has been included in the Barcelona squad to face Levante tonight – despite fresh talks over a move to Arsenal.

Arsenal are keen to land the midfielder as Unai Emery looks to bolster his options but can only afford a loan deal while Barcelona want a permanent sale.

A compromise is likely to be reached with a loan move which includes a guaranteed purchase agreement for the summer.

However he could play for Barca tonight – slowing down the process.
