Emilia Clarke: Game of Thrones co-star Kit Harington reveals why she's NOT recognised

The 32-year-old Game of Thrones actress previously flew under the radar more due to her natural brunette locks being in stark contrast to the Mother of Dragons’ flowing platinum wig. However, even since Emilia Clarke dyed her hair icy blonde last year, she still manages to blend in with the crowd. In an interview with Vanity Fair last year, Jon Snow star Kit Harington, 32, mused the reason might have something to do with her height. “We both have a thing about our stature not quite being what people expect,” he told the publication.

Emilia also proposed it could be her naturally sillier and more playful personality than her famous character.

“When I’m goofing around with my pals, I’m unrecognisable,” she said.

There are moments her temperament skirts closer to that of Daenerys, she admitted.

“Sometimes, if I’m in a really bad mood, people are like, ‘Khaleesi!’” she quipped.

Emilia previously told Conan O’Brien she hardly ever got recognised by fans.

“I don’t get recognised, truly,” she said in 2016. “I’ll be walking with Kit Harington, who plays Jon Snow, or Gwen [Christie], who plays Brienne of Tarth, and people will be like, ‘Can you take this picture for us?’ And I’m like, ‘Sure! Definitely I can!’”

Elsewhere, last year, the blonde beauty opened up on what did happen when she was noticed by Game of Thrones aficionados in her day-to-day life.

She told BBC Radio 1 people often shouted “Give us a selfie” at her while she was out and about, adding: “For future reference, ‘Please may I…?’ doesn’t hurt.

“Sometimes you get people coming up and you’re like aww, you’re just going to ask for an autograph, that’s really lovely,” she continued.

“Because this is the thing, when people ask me for autographs, nine times out of 10 I’m writing some kind of personalised note because I appreciate that.”

GAME OF THRONES SEASON 8 EPISODE 1 AIR DATE: WHEN IS IT RELEASED?
