Frank Adonis dead: How did the Goodfellas actor die? What was his cause of death?

According to TMZ, Frank Adonis passed away after a long battle with various health issues mostly involving his kidneys. The news website added he had been on dialysis and was on a ventilator for the past nine days. In a statement obtained from the site, his wife Denise referred to her late husband as her “best friend”. She said: “He will be missed. He was a great father and an amazing husband.

“He helped all his friends he could. Great writer, director and actor. He was my best friend.”

Frank’s friend Phil Castellano shared a further message on Facebook on behalf of Denise.

The message began: “Hello Dear Friends.

“It is with Great Sadness and a heavy heart That I must tell you That on December 26, 2018 My Husband, partner & Best Friend, Love Of my Life & Amazing Father Frank Adonis-Scioscia Has passed away.

“Frank was very sick for a long time! He passed away with no pain.

“Please Always Keep Frank in your Prayers.

“We will miss you with all our Heart & Soul. Rest Well My Love.”

Frank was widely known for his involvement in Martin Scorsese’s most famous films.

The actor’s credits include Goodfellas, Raging Bull, Casino and True Romance.

The star made his big screen debut in 1971 in the French Connection.

Frank’s most recent credit was in last year’s feature Proximity to Power.

Following the news of his passing, many of his fans flocked to Twitter to pay a tribute.

One user commented: “RIP Frank Adonis was in some great movies.”

A second wrote: “#RIP Frank Adonis.”

Frank is survived by his wife Denise, 62, and their two children, Francesco, 26, and Brianna, 24.

He also has another daughter from a previous marriage.
