Roman Reigns: Toni Storm certain WWE star will return soon after cancer battle – EXCLUSIVE

The WWE Universe was left stunned last October when Reigns revealed he was first diagnosed with the terrible disease 11 years ago and after quickly putting it in remission the cancer unfortunately came back.

The Big Dog then relinquished the Universal Championship shortly after his SummerSlam triumph over Brock Lesnar and took a leave of absence to battle the illness.

Storm is one of many of his fellow WWE superstars who were left devastated by the news but she is confident the four-time world champion will come back better than ever.

The Mae Young Classic winner told Express Sport: “Obviously it’s terrible news.

“Not just for NXT UK but everyone in the WWE Universe, whether it’s fans or roster members.

“It’s quite a shock to everyone but we’re all going to stay positive for Roman.

“We’ll see him back soon, I’m sure we will.”

Reigns insisted on his most recent appearance on RAW that he is not retiring from professional wrestling.

The ex-WWE Champion is confident he will be back stronger than ever and will prove to everyone that he can overcome every obstacle that life throws against him.

He said: “The reality is my real name is Joe [Anoaʻi] and I’d been living with leukaemia for 11 years… And unfortunately it’s back.

“And because the leukaemia is back, I cannot fulfil my role. I can’t be that fighting champion and I’m going to have to relinquish the Universal Championship.

“I’m not going to lie, I’ll take every prayer you can send my way but I’m not looking for sympathy.

“I’m not looking for you to feel bad for me because I have faith.

“When I was 22 years old I was diagnosed with this and very quickly I was able to put it in remission. But I’m not going to lie, that was the hardest time of my life.

“I didn’t have a job, I didn’t have any money, I didn’t have a home and I had a baby on the way. And football was done with me.

“But do you know who gave me a chance? The team that gave me a chance was the WWE.

“After I’m done whooping leukaemia’s a** once again, I’m coming back home.

“I want to show my family, my friends, my children and my wife that when life throws a curveball at me, I am the type of man that will stand in that batter’s box, I will crowd the plate, I will choke up and I will swing for the fences every single time!”
