The 38-year-old meteorologist is a firm favourite on ITV and can regularly be seen presenting the forecast on ITV Racing. Speaking to The Guardian, Lucy Verasamy recalled the freezing temperatures and snow which bombarded the UK last winter. “The Beast from the East was insane,” she said. “A wind chill straight out of Siberia, red warnings, and snow so fluffy, because of the dry air, that we’ll never really know how deep the drifts were.”
The weather star also revealed the likelihood people will see a white Christmas this year.
“It’s more likely to snow at Easter than Christmas,” she said. “The Met Office definition, which the bookies use, is for one snowflake to fall on December 25 at various points around the country.”
Clearly not anticipating a picturesque, snowy Christmas Day, she continued: “We’ve grown up with snowy Christmas scenes — but they come from the Victorian era, when they were coming out of a mini ice age.”
Lucy spilled all on her plans for the festive season, saying she would be heading home to Norfolk for a family Christmas.

However, she called the holiday “blink-and-you-miss-it”, revealing she would be back to work on December 27.
Lucy previously opened up on how she got started in her career as a weather presenter during a rare interview on BFBS Radio with Sim Courtie, 48.
“I did a degree in geography and earth sciences at university and I really liked the meteorological element of that, so I didn’t do pure meteorology,” she said.
“And then, after university, I did some work experience at the Press Association and they had a weather department. I sort of got trainer in-house, worked there for a few years and then a few years later I ended up at Sky News.
“It wad all a bit flukey and being at the right place at the right time,” Lucy admitted. “But quite a weather theme all the way along.”
Having got her start at the Press Association and moved to Sky, the brunette beauty later joined ITV on Daybreak.
She is now best known for hosting weather segments on ITV Racing and Good Morning Britain.
On this morning’s forecast, Lucy predicted blustery weather with bursts of rain but relatively mild temperatures.
“Blustery downpours across southern and south-eastern counties, lashing the windowpanes, waking some of us up before that morning alarm,” she said.
She said the downpours would continue through the rush hour.
“Elsewhere, a little more cheerful, brighter skies, some stunning sunshine,” she said. “And blustery downpours get going across the west — rumbles of thunder and hail possible here.
“On the mild side for many of us,” she added.
