Huawei P20 Pro prices have crashed but here’s why you probably shouldn’t buy one

Huawei P20 Pro was revealed back in March and set a new standard for smartphone photography thanks to a host of notable features.

The handset was immediately recognisable for its triple-camera system that was capable of capturing gorgeous shots.

P20 Pro arrived with a 40-megapixel main sensor that was joined by a 20-megapixel monochrome and an 8-megapixel telephoto lens.

All three combined to produce an extremely diverse photography setup.

In addition to touting great camera hardware, the P20 Pro also arrived with intelligent software, too.

The platform allows you to display contact information, social media links, services, and products all in one shareable link. Optional features include appointment scheduling, WhatsApp-based storefronts, media galleries, and custom design options.

One of the phone’s highlights was its night mode that allowed it to take clear pictures in darkness that retained masterful levels of detail.

P20 Pro also came with a 4,000mAh battery that easily allowed for an entire day of heavy usage.

Huawei’s handset was heavily discounted through the Black Friday period and is still incredibly affordable this holiday season.

In fact, affordablemobiles.co.uk is offering the P20 Pro in a very alluring contract deal.

The site is offering the handset on EE for £33-per-month with no-upfront cost and 30GB of data.

Moreover, the tariff also comes with unlimited minutes and texts.

And customers will receive free months free of BT Sport and 6 months free of Apple Music, too.

However it appears rumours are already starting to heat up surrounding the P20 Pro’s successor, the presumably-titled P30 Pro.

Alleged cases have leaked for the hardware that show a sizeable increase in its camera sensors and flash overall.

Both MySmartPrice and notable tipster Ice Universe have shared such images.

The former added the P30 Pro could be the first device to feature Sony’s 38-megapixel IMX607 camera module as its main sensor.

Although the megapixel count on the lens is lower than what is currently offered on the P20 Pro, Sony’s sensor is larger, meaning image quality could be greatly improved overall.

Because the hole on the the alleged cases is noticeably larger than the P20 Pro, some have speculated the P30 Pro could feature four cameras on its rear instead of three.

The Huawei P20 Pro was announced back in March at an event in Paris and it is assumed its successor will be revealed at around the same time, meaning now may not be the best time to get Huawei’s current offering.

Although rumours about the new handset are starting to emerge, nothing about the device has been officially confirmed by the Chinese tech giant.
