Real Madrid ace Modric won the Ballon d’Or this week after a stunning 2018 which saw him win the Champions League.
He also helped Croatia to the World Cup final and has shone for the whole year.
Modric joined Real Madrid from Tottenham in 2012 and has continually improved in the Spanish capital.
But now the 33-year-old has revealed he could have moved to Arsenal during his career.
And the decision of Wenger not to pursue the signing of the Croatian had a big impact on Modric’s future.

And Modric doesn’t want his time in the famous white of Real Madrid to end any time soon.
“I have two years left and hopefully one more,” Modric said.
“The club show me a lot of affection and I’d like to retire at Real Madrid.
“My family enjoy it and I want to keep enjoying this huge club.”
When describing his feelings on winning the Ballon d’Or, Modric added: “It is difficult to express my emotion and how I feel in words.
“It is something unique for me. It was very special tonight.
“It was the most important people in my life – most of them, some of them were missing – but I am so happy to share this moment with them.”
