OnePlus is no stranger to announcing collaborations with other firms.
In the past, we’ve seen this Chinese firm join forces with a top artist and blockbuster Marvel films with special edition devices then launched to mark the occasions.
However, this latest venture could be one of the most exciting yet with OnePlus confirming a new partnership with McLaren Automotive and McLaren Racing, one of the most successful teams in Formula 1 history.
There’s currently no further word on what these two firms have in store but all will be revealed at a special ‘Salute to Speed’ launch event, to be held at the McLaren Technology Centre in the UK.
And the firms say that by joining forces it will enable OnePlus and McLaren to unlock a new long-term technology partnership as they bring together the celebrated values which define the legacy of both brands – speed, craftsmanship, and an uncompromising dedication to continuous useful innovation.

Bringing together the inventive, pioneering spirit shared by both OnePlus and McLaren is a firm statement of intent to leverage our collective powers and break new ground for innovative ideas and technology.”
This news comes just a few weeks after OnePlus announced the launch of their new 6T in Thunder Purple.
This colourful phone, which features a gradient which fades from black to purple under the frosted glass-backed, now joins Midnight Black and Mirror Black in the lineup and is available now.
