Man Utd news: Jose Mourinho sends fans into MELTDOWN after throwing drinks bottles

The Belgian booked United’s place in the knockout stages of the competition with a last gasp winner.

The midfielder appeared to handle the ball in the build up by his manager would not have cared.

As the ball hit the back of the net, Mourinho kicked over some drinks bottles before picking another set up and hurling them into the ground.

The impact sent orange liquid flying as Old Trafford erupted into ecstasy.

Fans on Twitter gave mixed reactions about the wild celebrations.

One fan tweeted: “Mourinho with another classic touchline celebration… #MUFC”

Another added: “Shock Mourinho made that victory about him with that celebration.”

“ManU player returned to the dressing room with dry throats after mourinho smashed their water bottles during celebration,” a third said.

A fourth said: “That Mourinho celebration is enough for a contract renewal.”

The win takes the pressure off United ahead of the final group stage match day with Valencia.

If the match would have finished as a draw, Man United would have had to avoid defeat at the Mestalla to qualify.

It may have been papering over cracks, but qualification is all that matters and allows the team to focus on improving their Premier League position.

Another fan added: “Mourinho is smart, that celebration of his will trend and people will forget how United struggled to beat Young Boys B team.”

Another fan joked: “It’s just a matter of time before English FA will charge Mourinho for his UCL celebration.”

“It was worthwhile watching match till end for that Mourinho celebration,” a third added.

One fan thinks the scenes maybe iconic in years to come: “Mourinho’s celebration will go down in history. Fair play.”
