Donald Trump’s BIZARRE Elvis comparison – ‘Other than being blonde I look JUST LIKE HIM’

The President claimed people used to say he looked like the legendary performer when he was younger. He said: “Other than the blonde hair, when I was growing up they said I looked like Elvis. I always considered that a great compliment.”

Trump acknowledged the comparison to the notoriously good-looking singer may sound arrogant.

He said: “We love Elvis. I shouldn’t say this because it makes me sound conceited, but I’m not.”

The President added this month he posthumously awarded Elvis Presley the Medal of Freedom, America’s highest civilian honour.

He hosted a ceremony to honour The King and six others including the late baseball player Babe Ruth and the conservative Supreme Court justice Antonin Scalia.

At the event, Trump recalled he had attended an Elvis performance himself, where fans were “ripping the place apart, screaming” with excitement.

He added: “After redefining music in the ‘50s and redefining cinema in the ‘60s, The King – as he was known by everybody, everybody to this day they call him The King – revolutionised live performances in the 1970s.”

Some Twitter users did not agree with the President’s comparison between himself and The King.

One said: “Keep Elvis out of your mouth! At no time did you or do you look even remotely like Elvis.”

At the Tupelo rally, Trump spoke in support of Republican Senate candidate Cindy Hyde-Smith as the election goes into a highly contested runoff.

Mrs Hyde-Smith ran against Democrat Mike Espy in the midterm elections, but neither candidate reached a simple majority.

The special election is taking place today.

This was the first of two rallies on the same day, the second being held in Biloxi.
