Just days before the Royal Wedding 2018, it was revealed that Meghan Markle’s father, Thomas Markle, had staged photographs for a paparazzi photographer in return for money.
Later, the 74-year-old’s elder daughter Samantha Markle claimed the photoshoot had been her idea, and that her father’s motivation was not financial.
Thomas then said he had initially lied to the Prince about the snaps, and later regretted his decision.
Following the controversy, it was then announced that Thomas would not attend the Royal Wedding in Windsor, as he was recovering from heart surgery.
Tonight, Meghan’s nephew, Tyler Dooley, will star in the MTV show The Royal World.
The reality TV programme sees a number of young royals and aristocrats staying in a mansion in the British countryside.
Amongst the cast are Lady Colin Campbell’s two sons, Michael and Dimitri, and Camilla Beresford, the daughter of Henry Nicholas de la Poer Beresford – as well as the half-nephew of Meghan, Tyler.
In a teaser clip of the episode, Tyler can be seen chatting about being a relative of the former Suits actress.
In the footage, the 25-year-old explains that his father is Thomas Markle Jr., who is Meghan’s half-brother.
Therefore, Tyler’s grandfather is Meghan’s dad Thomas.
In the clip, the star goes on to discuss his and Meghan’s family life.
“Meghan was just a part of our normal American family, and I viewed her as a sister,” he divulged.
“We were kind of similar in age. She was fun, we just love her!”
“Legally I’m a Markle,” the reality TV personality continued. “But the Dooley family, that’s my mom.”
Tyler then explained that some members of the family do not speak to one another, before addressing this year’s reports about the family drama.
