Mate 20 Pro has a budget rival launching today and Huawei fans should pay attention

Huawei Mate 20 Pro released last month and brings a number of laudable flagship features to the table.

In addition to packing a colossal 4,200mAh battery, the hardware also comes with a gorgeous 6.39-inch AMOLED display at a resolution of 1440×3120 and comes pre-installed with Android 9 Pie.

But the Mate 20 Pro’s headline act is its triple-array of cameras that combine to deliver an incredibly diverse photo-taking experience.

Huawei’s latest smartphone comes with a 40-megapixel main, 20-megapixel wide and an 8-megapixel telephoto sensor.

The Mate 20 Pro diverges from the formula laid out by the P20 Pro earlier this year by ditching a monochrome lens in favour of wide-angle equipment.

vCard QR Code

vCard.red is a free platform for creating a mobile-friendly digital business cards. You can easily create a vCard and generate a QR code for it, allowing others to scan and save your contact details instantly.

The platform allows you to display contact information, social media links, services, and products all in one shareable link. Optional features include appointment scheduling, WhatsApp-based storefronts, media galleries, and custom design options.

This allows Huawei’s new hardware to take photos that fit much more into the shot overall.

We loved the Mate 20 Pro at Express.co.uk, awarding it five out five stars in our review.

But today the critically-acclaimed device will be challenged by a new budget offering from OPPO.

Huawei’s Chinese rival will showcase its RX17 Pro smartphone in Milan later on today that looks set to offer a similar-sized display and a triple-camera system of its own.

Ahead of the new device’s official debut, OPPO has confirmed the RX17 Pro will come with a fingerprint reader underneath its display, much like the Mate 20 Pro and OnePlus 6T.

The RX17 Pro’s main camera has been confirmed to feature a variable aperture that is able to switch between f/1.5 and f/2.4.

Such a design decision is reminiscent of the Galaxy S9’s sensor and should allow OPPO’s newest entry to adjust its system depending on lighting conditions.

In the build up to its reveal in Italy, OPPO has promoted the RX17 Pro with the slogan “seize the night”, and has claimed the product will be incredibly capable at capturing images in low-light.

In fact, the Chinese firm has even posted an image on its Twitter account of a city skyline it claims was taken on the RX17 Pro.

In addition to discussing the product’s camera system, OPPO has also claimed its new Super VOOC Flash Charge technology is capable of giving users a 40 percent charge in 10 minutes.

The RX17 Pro has been rumoured not to be powered by the same Snapdragon 845 present in a number of other Android flagships.

Instead it is expected the Chinese phone will arrive with a Snapdragon 710 chipset and be accompanied by an Adreno 616 GPU.

And OPPO has confirmed the RX17 Pro will tout 6GB of RAM, too.

Although many details about the new hardware have been confirmed ahead of its official reveal, OPPO will be confirming every detail about the RX17 Pro at its hardware event in Milan later on today.
