Importance Score: 40 / 100 🔵

NEW YORK – The prestigious 2025 Latin Grammys award ceremony is set to return to Las Vegas. This prominent event in the world of Latin music will gather artists, producers, and industry professionals for its annual celebration, marking a significant moment in the entertainment calendar.

Event Details for the 26th Latin Grammy Awards

The 26th yearly installment of the Latin Grammys will unfold on November 13, 2025, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. This marks the 15th occasion the esteemed music awards show will take place in the city known as “Sin City”.

Audiences can anticipate the three-hour telecast to be broadcast live on Univision. Key dates also include the unveiling of nominations, which is slated for September 17.

Historical Locations of the Latin Grammys

The location for the awards ceremony has varied throughout its history, highlighting its connection to different cultural hubs.

Recent Locations:

  • 2024: The previous year’s ceremony was hosted at the Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida. Miami holds significance as a major center for Latin culture within the United States and serves as the headquarters for the Latin Recording Academy.
  • 2023: The event took place in Seville, Spain. This was the first and, to date, only time the show has been held outside of U.S. borders.

Earlier Hosts:

The inaugural Latin Grammy Awards ceremony was held in Los Angeles in 2000. Subsequent shows were hosted in various cities before frequently returning to Las Vegas. Past locations have included:

  • Miami, Florida
  • New York City, New York
  • Houston, Texas
  • Seville, Spain
  • Las Vegas, Nevada

The Academy’s Perspective on Location Strategy

The decision to move the ceremony to different locations reflects a deliberate strategy by The Latin Recording Academy.

Gabriel Abaroa Jr., who served as the Academy’s president and CEO from 2003 to 2021 and now holds the title of president emeritus, previously stated that the guiding principle is “to keep the Latin Grammys traveling.” This approach, according to Abaroa, effectively demonstrates “the nature of our music.”

Controversy Surrounding the 2023 Seville Event

The decision to hold the 2023 ceremony in Seville generated some discussion. The move was facilitated by an agreement valued at nearly 19 million euros between the government of Andalusia and the Latin Recording Academy. However, the choice also drew scrutiny, with some critics questioning the decision to host the event in a European nation that played a significant role in the colonization of much of Latin America.

Manuel Abud, the current CEO of The Latin Recording Academy, has indicated plans for future international editions. Last year, he mentioned that “in the next couple of years, you will see another international edition of the Latin Grammys.”

Commenting on the 2025 announcement, Abud expressed enthusiasm for returning to Las Vegas. “We are proud to once again bring the passion and creativity of Latin music to Las Vegas,” he stated. Abud added that “The city has welcomed the Latin Grammys over the years, and we look forward to another great Latin Grammy week celebrating Latin music and its creators.”
