Tottenham and West Ham fans clash in angry scenes INSIDE stadium

The clubs have become engulfed in a fierce London rivalry in recent years.

This stemmed from West Ham’s 1-0 win over Spurs in 2017 which effectively ensured Mauricio Pochettino’s title challenge was over.

Hammers fans were then filmed celebrating outside the ground, to rub it in the faces of angry Tottenham supporters.

Tensions were high during Tottenham’s 1-0 Premier League win at the London Stadium earlier this month.

West Ham supporters appeared to set off a flare when they thought they had equalised, leaving smoke to blow across the pitch.

Spurs fans then mocked the incident after the match after Erik Lamela’s goal was enough to earn them all three points.

An hour into the Carabao Cup clash on Wednesday evening, 50+ stewards were involved in separating fans.

The incident occurred after Son Heung-Min doubled the visitors’ lead with his second goal of the night.

A handful of West Ham fans appeared to jump towards the away supporters.

The stewards were quick to defuse the situation and fans were held back.

After the altercation, security and stewarding was increased to stop things from boiling over.

West Ham then pulled a goal back from former Arsenal man Lucas Perez.

Fernando Llorente booked Spurs’ place in the quarter-finals when he added a third.

Spurs will now face north London rivals Arsenal in the next round, making the trip to the Emirates.
