P20 Pro camera beaten? Huawei flagship has a speedy new rival

Huawei P20 Pro released back in March and offered a number of substantial features that differentiated it from other smartphones on the market.

P20 Pro came with a gorgeous 6.1-inch AMOLED panel that displayed content at a 1080p resolution.

The Android device was powered by Huawei’s own Kirin 970 processor that allowed Google’s operating system to run with impressive speed.

Moreover a 4,000mAh battery was found under the hood of the P20 Pro and easily delivered all-day life for users.

But it was hardware’s triple-camera system that really took the smartphone market by storm.

vCard QR Code

vCard.red is a free platform for creating a mobile-friendly digital business cards. You can easily create a vCard and generate a QR code for it, allowing others to scan and save your contact details instantly.

The platform allows you to display contact information, social media links, services, and products all in one shareable link. Optional features include appointment scheduling, WhatsApp-based storefronts, media galleries, and custom design options.

The triple-array was comprised of a 40-megapixel main, 20-megapixel monochrome and 8-megapixel telephoto sensor and combined to capture incredible photos.

One of P20 Pro’s headline features was its night mode that was able to brighten up shots while retaining glorious amounts of detail.

In order for the mode to function, users had to hold the camera still for five seconds while the P20 Pro took a number of images at varying exposures.

The Huawei flagship would then intelligently stitch the photos together to produce a final image.

However, it appears the P20 Pro has a speedy rival that is able to capture images in low-light even faster.

The OnePlus 6T was revealed by the Chinese tech giant on Monday, October 29, and boasts a night mode of its own.

Dubbed “Nightscape”, OnePlus was eager to boast about how much faster it allows users to take photos in dark environments.

Announcing the feature, OnePlus said: “So what our team has been working on, over the last six months is something we’re going to call ‘Nightscape’ and basically Nightscape involves two major improvements.

“The first one is a HDR algorithm we self-developed and are really proud of.

“Basically the camera team took this from a scientific approach perspective and they wanted to enhance the quality of low-light photos taken in dim lighting.”

OnePlus insisted the 6T is capable of taking low-light photos in just two-seconds, a statistic that makes it three-seconds faster than Huawei’s offering.

The Chinese firm went on: “So with most cameras, if you are trying to take a low-light photograph it’s probably going to take maybe up to five-seconds to capture the photo.

“With night mode it is different, it should only take two-seconds to capture that photo.

“The reason that matters is basically in a handheld situation you want to be able to get the photo and get the moment.

“So simply put night mode allows you to capture that in just two-seconds.”

In addition to performing the action quicker than the P20 Pro, the OnePlus 6T is also cheaper than Huawei’s flagship.

OnePlus 6T starts at just £499 for the base model that has 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage.

However, the OnePlus 6T can be souped up to a model offering 8GB of RAM and 256GB of memory for £579.

OnePlus 6T will release on November 6.
