New MacBook Air 2018 – Why Apple laptop fans could have an exciting week ahead

If you’ve been desperately waiting to upgrade your ageing MacBook Air there could be some good news coming your way this week.

is holding a major keynote in New York on Tuesday and rumours suggest a new cheaper laptop could be top of the agenda.

The current MacBook Air hasn’t seen a dramatic change since it was first unveiled by Apple co-founder, Steve Jobs, back in 2008.

But it’s thought a new model may bring some significant upgrades to this hugely popular portable computer.

Reports suggest the Air could get an improved 13-inch Retina display and more power under the hood thanks to a new, and much faster, processor.

It’s unclear if the design will change but it certainly feels like now would be a good time for a full revamp.

We’ll find out all the details on Tuesday but this may not be the only Mac that’s in for a reboot.

It’s also thought that the Mac Mini and super skinny MacBook will get big upgrades at the keynote.

The popular Mac Mini has seen any big changes since 2014 and, like the Air, could get more power and tweaked design.

Apple’s stunning MacBook may also get an overhaul and may get the new keyboard that features on Apple’s recently updated MacBook Pro range.

If it’s a you are after then be prepared for more good news.

Apple is fully expected to reveal two totally new tablets which could see some of the biggest changes in years.

We’re expecting to see the new iPad Pros feature an edge-to-edge screen with the famous home button replaced with Face ID technology.

A faster processor, longer battery life and the inclusion of USB-C charging rather than Apple’s Lightning port could be big announcements.

Refreshed accessories including a new Apple Pencil and Smart Keyboard could also be arriving later this week.

The Apple Keynote starts at 10am local time or 2pm GMT.
