Antonio Rudiger pulled out of Germany’s squad heading into the international break through injury.
The centre-half faces a race against time to be fit for Chelsea’s clash with United today.
Chelsea could also be without Ross Barkley, who picked up a minor injury during his time with England.
However, should Barkley be passed fit, Sarri may opt to leave the in-form midfielder on the bench as a precaution.
Speaking ahed of their clash with United, Chelsea boss Sarri said: “As usual after the international teams there are some problems.

“The most serious is [Ethan] Ampadu. Then we have a little problem with [Callum Hudson] Odoi and Barkley.
“For them it is only a question of one or two days. The injury to Ampadu is serious, but maybe in a couple of weeks.
“Rudiger has done better in the last two days, like [Mateo] Kovacic, I think they will be okay to play.”
Sarri also revealed United have the best squad in the league – and one of the best managers in the world in Jose Mourinho.
“You are talking about one of the best coaches in the world, the results speak for him,” he added.
“I need to win if I want to compare myself to him. At the moment, it’s not possible. I’m not at the moment one of the best.
“I think he will be able to win also in the future, because he is really one of the best. Maybe the best. The results are the best.
“At the moment I think Manchester City is better like a team, but player by player United are very, very strong, maybe the best in the Premier League.”
