Who plays Michael Myers in Halloween?

Nick Castle played Michael Myers in the original 1978 film.

Now he is returning for this year’s remake, which is directed by David Gordon Green.

The 2018 version is set 40 years after the original and follows the story of Laurie Strode (played by Jamie Lee Curtis), as she faces crazy murderer Michael Myers once more. 

Myers returns to Haddonfield, Illinois, with the intention of killing Strode after his failed attempt on Halloween night in 1978.

Who is Nick Castle? 

Born on September 21, 1947, Nick Castle is an American screenwriter, film director and actor known for his role as Michael Myers in Halloween. 

He grew up in Los Angeles, California, where his father Charles was nominated for an Emmy for his work as an actor and choreographer for motion pictures, television and the stage. 

Nick often appeared as an extra in his father’s films and studied film at USC.

During his student days, he was a cinematographer for the Academy Award-winning short film The Resurrection of Broncho Billy. 

Castle won a Saturn Award for Best Writing for The Boy Who Could Fly, a Silver Raven for Delivering Milo and a Grand Prize for The Last Starfighter.

Some of Castle’s top film credits include Dark Star, where he played the beach ball alien, Major Payne, Dennis the Menace and the Last Starfighter. 

He wrote musical-drama August Rush, which was directed by Kirsten Sheridan and starred Freddie Highmore, Jonathan Rhys-Myers, Robin Williams and Keri Russell in 2007.

He also stars as himself in the 2010 documentary Halloween: The Inside Story by Filipino filmmaker Nick Noble.

Halloween is released in cinemas on October 19
