That is according to TNT ‘Inside the NBA’ analyst Charles Barkley.
The Lakers added the likes of LeBron James, Rajon Rondo, Lance Stephenson and Michael Beasley to their roster over the summer.
But their squad was already brimming with young talent including Kyle Kuzma, Lonzo Ball, Josh Hart and Brandon Ingram.
And it was announced on Tuesday the Lakers had exercised their 2019-20 team options on Kuzma, Ball, Hart and Ingram.
Reaching the playoffs is this season’s major target for the Lakers and they begin their campaign against the Portland Trail Blazers on Thursday.

But Barkley is far from convinced by the Lakers’ recruitment policy and feels big decisions on personnel need to be made by coach Luke Walton.
“I don’t know if the Lakers are going to go with the young guys or all those geezers they brought in,” Barkley said on TNT.
“That to me is what is going to be interesting about the Lakers.
“Are they going with [Kyle] Kuzma, [Lonzo] Ball, [Josh] Hart?
“Or are they going with [Lance] Stephenson, [Rajon] Rondo and those guys?
“I have no idea what the Lakers are doing.
“Are they going to see which one of those young guys are going to go forward with LeBron?
“Or are they going to play JaVale and those older guys?
“That to me is going to be Luke Walton’s biggest thing because you need to know if Brandon Ingram, Kuzma, Hart and Ball are going to be the guys going forward.
“We know what Rondo is, we know what JaVale McGee is, we know what Lance Stephenson is.
“I don’t know what the Lakers are doing to be honest with you.”
