Tom Brady makes Patriots team-mates revelation as QB closes in on NFL milestone

In the Thursday Night game against the Indianapolis Colts, and in the process became the third quarterback in history to reach the career milestone.

Brady now joins Peyton Manning, who has 539 TD passes, and Brett Favre, who totalled 508.

When questioned about his career milestones, the 41-year-old made it clear it was those around him who have helped him achieve such heights.

“Things like that, milestones and so forth, there are so many people who contribute,” Brady said.

“So I just think of all the people that have really worked hard.

“The quarterback doesn’t throw to himself. He needs people who catch it and block and defuse to make plays and coaches that coach.

“These are all great team awards. So pretty cool.”

Against the Colts Brady also threw a touchdown pass to wide receiver Josh Gordon, who in doing so became the 71st player to catch a touchdown pass from the quarterback.

“To catch any pass from Tom is amazing, let alone some history-making catch,” Gordon said.

“Hopefully, he’s got a lot more left in him – I’m pretty sure he does – so I’m looking forward to that.

“The next history point to make for him, I hope to be a part of it.”

The touchdown set a new NFL record for Brady as he broke his tie with Vinny Testaverde, who connected with 70 different receivers during his career.

Brady didn’t just add to his career passing yards against the Colts, as the quarterback recorded his first rushing touchdown in 2018 with a one-yard stretch in the second quarter.

After the game Brady took to Instagram to share the next milestone in his sights, as he closes in on 1000 career rushing yards.

“One yard closer…19 to go!” Brady said.

“The quest continues #TB1K”

Patriots next opponents will be the Kansas City Chiefs on October 15 and it appears Brady cannot wait to continue their winning streak on Monday Night Football.

“Three-and-two time to get to four-and-two,” Brady said on an Instagram post.

“Kansas City up next, LFG, time to get some sleep, peace.”
