Japanese Grand Prix FP2 results: Lewis Hamilton the quickest as Sebastian Vettel struggles

Hamilton was once again he fastest driver as he tested his less durable tyres in the second session of the day.

The Brit was half a second quicker than the rest of the field during FP1 despite being on the medium tyres.

And when he switched the the super-softs he finished over eight tenths faster tan title rival Vettel.

Mercedes team-mate Valtteri Bottas was once again the second fastest as the Silver Arrow look on course for another front row lockout.

Vettel recorded the third best time and Red Bull’s Max Verstappen – who was the driver of the day last weekend in Russia – was fourth, ahead of Kimi Raikkonen.
