Galaxy S8 price slashed to new low as major new features announced by Samsung

The Galaxy S8 was officially one of the best phones of 2017.

This device won a host of awards and continues to be a market-leading phone even though it’s now almost 18-months old.

The S8 features a fast processor, decent camera, wireless charging and a long-lasting battery.

When it first launched, the phone would have set you back over £650 but a new offer has seen this cost slashed by almost half.

Amazon has just dropped the price of the S8 to a ludicrously low £397.

The Midnight Black and Orchid Grey versions of the phone are both available at this budget price.

If it’s a contract you are after there’s also some good offers available with prices starting from as low as £18 per month.

This deal from Mobiles.co.uk includes 1GB of data plus unlimited calls and text.

There is a £120 upfront fee to pay but the total over the two-year contract is just £552.

Along with these new deals and price cuts, there’s another good reason for taking delivery of the S8.

Samsung has begun pushing out an update which will bring some big new features to the device that, until now, you could only find on the very latest Samsung phones.

The first added extra is the ability to shoot video at 960 frames per second Super Slow-motion.

To make a comparison, Apple’s iPhones only allow 240fps so this is quite a big upgrade for the Galaxy S8.

Along with slower video recording, the S8 is also getting Samsung’s answer to Apple’s Animojis.

AR emojis were introduced earlier this year and allow users to create an animated version of themselves.

These cartoon characters are even able to follow your movements and expressions.

Finally this SM-G950F G950FXXU4CRI5 Update is thought to include some general security updates and patches.

The full rollout of this software is not known but it should be being pushed out across the globe over the coming days and weeks.
