Apple Watch Series 4 – Every new upgrade that could launch THIS WEEK

Apple Watch Series 4 is highly anticipated from fans and will surely refine everything its predecessors achieved while also offering its own unique features.

While Apple’s forthcoming showcase is expected to focus on iPhone first and foremost, many have predicted the new wearable will also make an appearance.

With that said, if the trillion-dollar company does decide to display its new smartwatch, here is what it could come packing.

Design

Apple Watch Series 4 is expected to support technologically advanced internals but most notably it has also been rumoured to boast an all-new look.

vCard QR Code

vCard.red is a free platform for creating a mobile-friendly digital business cards. You can easily create a vCard and generate a QR code for it, allowing others to scan and save your contact details instantly.

The platform allows you to display contact information, social media links, services, and products all in one shareable link. Optional features include appointment scheduling, WhatsApp-based storefronts, media galleries, and custom design options.

Ming-Chi Kuo, a notable analyst for KGI Securities, declared earlier this year the Series 4 will feature a screen that is 15 percent larger than its predecessors.

However, at the time it was not clarified whether this would be achieved by making the overall case size on the product bigger or if bezels would be reduced instead.

But a more recent report from 9to5Mac appears to suggest the latter will be true.

The publication posted an image of an alleged Series 4 unit – it claimed the photo was not a mockup, declaring instead it was official marketing material obtained from Apple.

A new watch face could be seen on the hardware featuring a plethora of information about the user’s surroundings and options for functions such as music playback.

A red ring could be seen on the Digital Crown, suggesting the Series 4 will feature network connectivity just like the Series 3.

And shortly after posting the supposedly leaked image, 9to5Mac then insisted it had “been able to figure out the probable screen resolution for the 42mm version” of the Series 4 watch.

It said the device’s OLED panel would display at a resolution of 384×480 and thanked “information found on the latest watchOS 5 beta” for the new information.

Apple Watch Series 3 in the same size currently touts a resolution of 312×390.

The American outlet also declared the Series 4 will have a greater pixel density than prior Apple smartwatches with the display showcasing 345-pixels-per-inch.

9to5Mac also said new watch faces would be available exclusively on the Apple Watch Series 4 that would take advantage of the slightly larger display.

And developers would surely update their apps to ensure their content fits optimally on the new hardware from Apple.

Features

Apple Watch Series 3 introduced network connectivity on the wearable line for the first time and the alleged image of the Series 4 suggests it will also allow users to make calls with the flick of a wrist.

Renowned analyst Ming-Chi Kuo insisted the newest smartwatch from Apple will come with improved health sensors.

Such claims hint Apple could follow tradition by focusing on fitness and living a balanced lifestyle during the unveiling of the Series 4.

watchOS 5 is expected to come pre-installed on the new product – the software brings a host of new functions but it will also be available to Series 1 watches and newer.

One of the biggest new additions comes with being able to share the activity rings that have become hugely-popular amongst Apple fans with friends and family.

Users can now challenge others to a week-long competition to see who is better at closing their rings.

Apple Podcasts also arrive in the latest version of the operating system, meaning users can control the playback of their favourite shows without needing their phone to hand.

But by far the most notable addition is with what Apple is calling “Walkie-Talkie” mode.

This allows Apple Watch users to speak to each other using the new application, meaning communicating through the device is now easier than ever.

Battery

Apple Watch Series 4 is expected to build upon the great battery life delivered by its predecessor.

When Express.co.uk reviewed the Series 3 we were impressed by its ability to “easily” get through an entire day of usage.

We said: “Battery life is also pretty impressive with it easily lasting a day and the device is even clever enough to work out how to save power by only connecting to the cellular network when it needs to.”

According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo the Apple Watch Series 4 will tout even better battery life, suggesting the hardware will breeze through an entire day of usage.

However, such claims have not yet been confirmed by Apple.

Although much speculation still remains around the Apple Watch Series 4, it is presumed the giant tech firm will put to bed all rumours on September 12.

Express.co.uk will be covering the event live.
