Battlefield 5 release date DELAYED: When is the new release date for Battlefield 5?

Battlefield 5 will see a release date delay as the season for AAA game releases approach, in a move that will push it back by a month.

Formerly, Battlefield 5 was given an inital date of October, as a spate of other huge games are released.

The past plan was to have Battlefield 5 out in the same month as massive games Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, and Red Dead Redemption 2.

Battlefield once had a release date set in stone for this period, having announced it in May this year.

Battlefield 5 is now scheduled for release by November 20 2018, and developers DICE have apparently set it back to further develop their new game.

DICE and EA are apparently hoping to further change the game to enhance the experience for their players.

While its not out of the ordinary for developers to postpone games to further develop them, but Battlefield was sandwiched in between other huge titles, and moving it up a month takes off some pressure.

Oskar Gabrielson, General Manager of DICE, released a statement explaining the resolve behind the latest decision.

He said: “We believe we have one of the best Battlefield games ever on our hands.

“A game that will deliver on an emotional journey through the return of unseen single player War Stories, a deep multiplayer experience, Battle Royale, along with our new live service, Tides of War – a journey across multiple theatres of WW2 and designed to keep our community together.

“With the Open Beta just around the corner, we are excited about the millions of you who will join us and experience the game.”

He continues: “We fully expect to see even more feedback coming our way. And that’s why we’re moving our launch date.

“We’re going to take the time to continue to make some final adjustments to core gameplay, and to ensure we really deliver on the potential of Tides of War.

“We know moving the launch date means that we all have to wait a little longer.”

Gabrielsson is hoping that the final product will be something gamers will treasure, and an upcoming beta is their next chance to understand what gamers think.

When is the Battlefield 5 Beta?

Battlefield 5’s open Beta is still set to take place this coming month on September 6.

The beta will be available to download for free on Origin PC, PS4 and Xbox One, and DICE/EA have already supplied some details on what to expect.

Highlights are to include the Rotterdam and Arctic Fjord maps, with the brand new Grand Operations mode.

Providing a narrative element to the mostly multiplayer game, Grand Operations spans several maps and modes, hoping to add some depth to the Second World War setting.
