Venom is the upcoming movie from Sony starring Tom Hardy as the titular character, Eddie Brock.
Venom is also the name of the alien symbiote who takes up residence inside Eddie Brock’s body and mind.
The Jekyll and Hyde story, based on the Marvel character, is highly anticipated for its far darker take on the typically PG superhero genre.
Choosing Eminem as the soundtrack’s major feature is certainly one way to push those rating boundaries.
The song is worth listening to a few times, not only for the rap skill Eminem easily displays, but also for the lyrics themselves.

Regardless of your feelings for rap, one can’t help but find the rhyming of “symbiote so” and “loco” amusing.
A snippet of the lyrics are:
I said, “Knock knock, let the devil in, alien”
E-E-Elliot phone home,
Ain’t no telling when this choke hold
On this game will end, I’m loco
Became a symbiote, so
My fangs are in your throat, ho
You’re steppin’ in with my
Venom.
There is also a very peculiar way Eminem says the name Venom, less Venom more Venim.
The chorus includes the lines: Venom, (I got that) adrenaline momentum
Venom, not knowin’ with ’em
Never gonna slow up in ’em
Ready to snap any moment-um
Thinkin’ it’s time to go get ’em
They ain’t gonna know what hit ’em
(When they get bitten with the)
Venom
The song is a whopping four minutes and 29 seconds, but the time flies by with Eminem’s spitfire rap.
How the song features in the film remains to be seen, but Matt Singer at Screencrush has a pretty awesome idea for the music video itself:
“The only way I couldn’t be more excited is if they release a music video where Tom Hardy as Venom is dancing in the background while Eminem raps this song.”
Venom is out in UK cinemas on Wednesday, October 3, 2018.
