New iPhone X 2018 – New details revealed ahead of launch will excite Apple fans

Apple has been widely rumoured to launch three new iPhones in September; one will be a direct successor to the current iPhone X while another will keep the same aesthetic but come in a much bigger size.

The third device is said to be a cheaper iPhone model that will forgo some premium features in order to be more affordable.

Market intelligence firm TrendForce recently insisted the cheaper hardware will feature an LCD screen instead of the OLED present in the current iPhone to keep manufacturing costs down.

An alleged prototype of the smartphone was also recently shown off by YouTuber Marques Brownlee – the most notable feature of the product was its lack of a dual-camera setup.

Instead the hardware only touted a single sensor on its rear.

But now a new report from Bloomberg has added further fuel to speculation surrounding the three products.

Citing people “familiar with the matter”, the publication declared this year will be a more iterative one for the iPhone line, suggesting upgrades will be more internal than external.

But the publication declared the new larger iPhone, that is said to have a gargantuan 6.5-inch screen, will allow users to view content “side-by-side”.

This means owners could have two apps each taking up half the display, similar to functionality present on Apple’s iPad tablet.

Such a move makes sense as it would surely take full advantage of the bigger device and allow it to differentiate itself from the iPhone X’s direct successor.

Apple analyst Gene Munster commented on the rumoured panel size, hinting the bigger device could boost iPhone sales.

He noted: “Having a bigger screen is always a plus for demand.”

While the design of the iPhone X is unlikely to change much, according to the sources, the internals will be greatly improved.

They declared the “main changes” on this year’s model will be turbocharged internals and a better camera.

However, Bloomberg did not discuss how the dual-lens snapper on the current iPhone X would be upgraded.

The publication’s sources were also eager to discuss the cheaper iPhone model set to be announced next month.

They echoed prior rumours that suggested the device will come with an LCD panel and be made available in a multitude of colours.

It was also emphasised the hardware will sport an aluminium casing as opposed to the current iPhone X’s stainless steel material.

The names for the upcoming devices have changed “multiple times” and Apple have “considered” calling the the direct successor to the iPhone X the iPhone Xs, the report added.

Although no details mentioned by the publication have been officially confirmed, Apple fans will not have to wait long to see what the company has in store for its lauded smartphone line.

The tech giant is expected to have an event next month where it will announce new iPhones.
