Star Wars 9 is still an agonising 18 months away but the official film shoot has started. At the same time, numerous leaks, reports and rumours are emerging from the various sets, mainly in the UK.
Of course, none of these can ever be verified until the movie hits cinemas in December 2019, but combined with the first emerging pictures of the stars on set, a picture is starting to form.
After the unprecedented fan backlash against The Last Jedi followed by the Han Solo movie’s poor performance, all eyes are firmly fixed on what JJ Abrams can come up with to bring the entire saga home.
So far, it appears the movie is filming chronologically, with early photographs and leaked reports all pointing to how the first act of Episode IX will shape up.
Needless to say all this constitutes potential spoilers, so proceed with caution and a pinch of salt…

The early pictures coincide with leaks that Finn, Poe, Rose and Chewbacca have been sent out in small teams to make contact with potential allies. Now we have news of Leia also willing to make deals with the criminal underground as well as seeking explosive proof of First Order abuses to outrage and rally the galaxy once more.
The latest leak says: “The Hutts are to be involved but will refuse at first and want nothing to do with the Hutt-slayer.”
This will thrill fans who know that it refers to the iconic moment when Leia was being held as a slave by Jabba the Hutt. During the attack on his barge in The Return of the Jedi, Leia takes her own chains and uses them to strangle the crime lord to death.
Claudia Gray’s Star wars novel Bloodline explores Leia’s incredible life before The Force Awakens and reveals that the Alderan princess is now notorious throughout the underbelly of the galaxy as the ”Huttslayer”, a nickname give her by the Nikto, a race often employed as enforcers by the Hutt clan.
The leak adds: “Poe and Finn make an agreement with the Hutts for more resources, men and other creatures.”
This ties in with another recent report of a scene filmed at the Cardington Sheds, the huge hangars at former RAF Cardington, outside London.
The previous leak said: “One of the descriptions has to do with a scene for Episode 9. They do plan on shooting a scene involving Finn, Poe and Rose over at the Cardington Sheds.
“One of the storyboard scenes has to with Finn and Poe being handcuffed in front of a Hutt, who is believed to be Rotta.
“It is followed by Finn and Poe escaping, being followed by First Order stormtroopers down an alleyway, before they meet up with Rose an an unidentified character. The scene is being shot at Cardington.”
The Hutts are likely to be working with the First Order, but will be swayed to ally with the resistance if Leia can find a reason that is in their best interest, likely to be money or power.
She faces an even harder task with many of her former allies and the galaxy at large, since it appears that Kylo Ren has created a new government that appears benevolent.
It seems much of Leia’s grand plan for the rest of the galaxy rests on finding some damning evidence that will prove that the First Order cannot be trusted and is evil at its core.
The reporst adds: “The First Order headquarters apparently are in the Unknown Regions. This may line up with a big plot leak from May which said the First Order base is on a water planet in the Unknown Regions.”
That previous leak described a planet covered in water where captured races were enslaved and forced to work creating weapons and resources for the First Order.
