Star Wars 9 HEARTBREAKING Leia scenes: Carrie Fisher’s brother reveals HOW her story ends

Whatever happens afterwards in the Star Wars universe, this is the last time we will see Carrie Fisher on screen as Princess Leia.

With the franchise battered by a Last Jedi backlash and rumblings of a boycott by diehard fans, the Skywalkers are needed more than ever.

After denials that Fisher would be digitally recreated after her death, followed by denials that she ever be shown Episode 9, Lucasfilm revealed last month that Leia would live on screen one last time.

Now the actress’ brother, Todd, has spoken out about what he has seen of the “magical” new Leia scenes.Β

Todd told Entertainment Tonight Canada: “My sister and Princess Leia are the same thing. And the idea of that story stopping and her not carrying forward is very disturbing to me…

“It is awesome that it worked out this way and, thanks to director JJ Abrams, this is going to be very magical and important to us all.”

He also revealed how they would use the footage from Episodes 7 and 8 to continue and, ultimately, end Leia’s Star Wars story.

Fisher’s brother also praised her extraordinary performance as: “Some of her best acting and I have known her since she didn’t know anything about acting. It is remarkable. She is killing it.”

Todd said the filmmakers: “bring her into the story in a way as if they filmed it yesterday.Β

β€œThe things that she shot a few years ago are frozen in time, so to speak, and [have] been reborn into the final Star Wars where she is the character that needed to continue.”

There had previously been some thought that the unused footage from the last two movies would be used for some form of flashback.

Instead, it seems Abrams has found a way to cut the scenes Fisher shot into the ongoing narrative.

Todd added: “It is heartbreaking sometimes to see your family that has left us. But if you believe in the way our family does, in the Force, we aren’t really apart at all and she will always be with us.

“But it is nice when you can put her back up on the screen and continue the story and continue the saga. That is important for all of us.”
