Ruling Prime Minister Hun Sen is largely expected to win in a one-sided race free from political dissent.
None of the nineteen political parties who ran against the leader’s Cambodian People’s Party (CPP) are strongly critical of Hun Sen.
There has been a crackdown on opponents and press freedom in the last year, with the main opposition, Cambodia National Rescue Party (CNRP), being dissolved.
The 2018 election is the country’s sixth one since it emerged from the Khmer Rouge-run Cambodian genocide between 1975 and 1979 when 1.7 million people were killed.
What time will Cambodia election results be announced?
The Nationa Election Committee is due to start announcing preliminary results at about 6 pm local time (12pm BST).

The National Election Committee says voter turnout was 80.49 percent.
Critics say the lack of opposition means a result for Hun Sen cannot represent the wishes of the Cambodian population.
Brad Adams, Asia director at Human Rights Watch, said: “The Cambodian government over the past year has systematically cracked down on independent and opposition voices to ensure that the ruling party faces no obstacles to total political control.
“Dissolving the main opposition party and banning many of its senior members from politics means this election cannot possibly reflect the will of the Cambodian people.
This is a developing story. More to follow.
