New to the contemporary trilogies, but not to the Star Wars Universe, is Billy Dee Williams reprising his role as Lando Calrissian.

STAR WARS EPISODE 9: WILL MARK HAMILL APPEAR AS A LUKE FORCE GHOST?

To get the full history, we recommend watching the movies in this order: IV, V, VI, I, II and III, Solo, Rogue One, The Force Awakens, The Last Jedi.

This watching helps keep the suspense while still maintaining a partial chronological order.

However, for fans who want true chronology, the numerical order is the way to go, followed by Solo, Rogue One, The Force Awakens, and finally The Last Jedi.

There is no plot detail for Episode 9 yet, but some final showdown between Rey and Kylo Ren seems a given.

Star Wars Episode IX is in cinemas Thursday, December 19, 2019.
