Riga Masters 2018 Round Two LIVE: Results, updates and scores from snooker season opener

World champion Mark Williams beat Ben Woollaston in the first round of the season-opening Riga Masters on Friday.

The Welshman won 4-2 to comfortably reach the second round but his compatriot and the tournament’s defending champion Ryan Day lost out 4-3 to Ali Carter.

Other first-round winners included Shaun Murphy, Neil Robertson, Graeme Dott and Mark Allen.

Jimmy White lost 4-0 to Ricky Walden.

Murphy had a 120 break in the opening frame of his 4-0 victory over David Lilley, missing the yellow as he attempted a 147 maximum break after sinking 15 reds and blacks.
